August's CU Spotlight: Indiana Members Credit Union
Many credit unions have been part of Love My Credit Union Rewards Sprint program for some time. But this month, we are excited to sit down with a credit union that has just joined the program, and is developing their own strategies for sharing the Sprint program with their membership.
We spoke with Jenn Hawkins at Indiana Members Credit Union in Indianapolis about their journey with the Sprint program. Indiana Members was founded in 1956, and now serves over 125,000 members through 27 branches.
We asked Jenn what her favorite ways to promote the Sprint program were, and she has found great success with using multiple communications channels to reach members. IMCU members “have a variety of preferred methods to access information, so we dedicate many channels to share our added benefits.”
Jenn says “We’ve just recently introduced the Sprint Program to our members and have shared in e-newsletter articles, member emails, in posters in our branches, on our “Special Offers” page on our website, and via social media platforms.”
These digital assets are proven to work, even with credit unions that have just joined the Sprint program. “Traffic to our Special Offers page, where our Sprint information is housed, spiked to the 4th most visited page the 3 days following the send of the email highlighting the Sprint program, which was just one spot under our online banking page! The average time spent on the page during that time was 3 mins and 41 seconds, proving that members read through the offers to learn how it benefits them. Traffic to our Special Offers page still remained in the top ten for the next email sent in June as well.” Pretty impressive numbers, wouldn’t you say?
Jenn also tells us that IMCU “looks for ways to provide value for our members via additional benefits they can take advantage of, outside of our traditional financial products and services.” Which is why they chose to offer the Sprint program to their members.
